DIY: The Perfect Rusty Red Corduroy Jumper!
Not only is this jumper super cute, it is incredibly easy to make! Great for a quick weekend sewing project!
I generally create my own designs from old patterns that I have but for this jumper I used McCalls 7831 and I added about 6 inches to the overall (no pun intended) length.
I also added loops on the strap to feed the extra length of the strap into, then I hand stitched it in place on the inside so it wouldn't slide around.
All of the supplies for this jumper were purchased at Joann and the total cost was less than $20 -with coupons, of course! Why pay full price when you don't have to? A couple of hours for cutting and sewing on a weekend and this cutie was done!!
This is such a great pattern for a beginning sewing project and could be made for any season. I fell in love with the corduroy for Fall but you could make this for anytime of the year. Imagine this in a tartan plaid for Christmas!! Oh, my! I might have to make another for travelling in the summer in a fun floral, white linen or chambray! The possibilities are endless with sewing! Until then, I'm going to enjoy this simple, cute and versatile jumper!
